The founder of Turkey Mustafa Kemal Atatürk opened the Economy Congress in 1923. The name of the congress is changed as September 9 Exhibiton, in 1927. And finally İzmir Fair opened in 1936 thanks to Behçet Uz. More than 80 years, the fair is held in the same location. The new fairground in Izmir is located in the Gaziemir district; however, Izmir International Fair is located in the same place, in the Kulturpark in Konak.
The fair will host its guests from September 6 to September 15 this year. According to the committee, over one million guests visited the fair last year. The number of visitors this year is a matter of curiosity...
As in previous years, some provinces from Turkey will be represented at the fair this year: Aksaray, Amasya, Ankara, Antalya, Aydın, Balıkesir, Bursa, Denizli, Edirne, Hatay, Isparta, Istanbul, Kahramanmaraş, Kocaeli, Malatya, Mersin, Muğla, Tekirdağ, Trabzon, Uşak.
As with previous fairs, different countries will be hosted. People’s Republic of China will be partner country, and India will be focus country. The other participants are: Benin, Indonesia, Gambia, Ghana, Iraq, Cameroon, TRNC, and Sudan.
You can visit halls between 16.00 - 23.00, and bazaar 12.00 - 24.00
Entrance fee is ₺4.5. It'll be ₺10 in September 9th. (Free for the disabled and their companions.)
